The most valuable component for everyone who works from home: Office 2019 combines all of this in the Home and Student Edition. It is a program for exactly one device, which includes the programs Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. OneNote can be downloaded from the Windows Store in Windows 10. Users save data either offline directly on the computer or online in the cloud using OneDrive or similar providers. “Do more at home or at school”: That is Microsoft’s motto, which this edition of Office 2019 can also keep.

Professional-looking documents can now be designed more effectively in Word 2019: Editing and checking of the content of the printout on the printer are done in one operation. In addition, the search function known from its predecessor is included, so that beginners can quickly access all the important functions in Word 2019. Completely new in the version in Office 2019 Home and Student is the integration of SVG graphics, which are easier to scale and move than JPG or PNG graphics, for example. Anyone who writes on a touchscreen with a pen will also enjoy improved handwriting recognition. This is especially useful when taking notes.

PowerPoint 2019, on the other hand, is perfect for presentations: The well-known tool allows the design of slides and complete presentations on a professional level. This means that ideas and information can be presented in a more appealing way both visually and acoustically. New in PowerPoint in Office 2019 is the use of recordings in Ultra HD resolution so that 4K videos can now be smoothly integrated into the slides. Improved support for zooming and scaling of existing photos or other graphics also makes the purchase of additional programs for image processing superfluous. From simple slides to multi-page slides, PowerPoint 2019 is the right tool.

With Excel 2019, however, the well-known application for managing tables is available to buyers of this program. Data of any kind can be entered easily and intuitively and processed optically. Keyboard shortcuts allow quick access to the most important functions for users who work with Excel on a daily basis. Among other things, the mathematical functions, which are now included in larger numbers in the package, have been improved in the new version. In addition, the application provides new methods for presenting data in a visually appealing way and thus providing a tool for visualization. This saves all users time and still enjoys the familiar workflow with Excel.

OneNote is no longer an integral part of the package in Office 2019 Home and Student. Instead, interested parties can download the program from the Windows Store. Furthermore, Microsoft has removed compatibility with all older versions of Windows. Windows 10 or Windows 10S must be installed on the device in order to take advantage of Office 2019 and all the applications it contains. This is a permanently usable program package that Microsoft provides with updates for at least five years. Unlike Office 365, there are no subscription fees. Backing up data in OneDrive may generate costs.
